IVF and Denova deletion ICSI
Body
After 14 yrs trying to conceive naturally I fell pregnant via the IVF ICSI Prost. I had a perfect pregnancy but my little girl was always slow to develop. Even at school she was always finding anything new very hard to grasp. Constantly being told to try ADHD medication, which we were not the slightest bit interested in trying as we felt our little girl had a problem but it would not be fixed with drugging her. After years of educational testing and other avenues being exhausted we had a chromosone test done only to be told our little girl had a very rare chromosone deletion. So rare infact that it had never before been reported and that they didn't know what such a deletion would result in, but that our daughter's learning difficulties would be expected. Now this resulted in both of us (mum and dad) being tested only to find it wasn't missing in either of us. Since finding out I asked the question whether it was due to the IVF for which I was told NO. But I have since read plenty of articles on this being found in studies. We put our daughter and our selves thru hell trying to find out what was holding our little girl back and if we could have been followed up since our IVF maybe would have had that chromosone testing done 11 yrs earlier.

PS: She now has a 1 out of 2 chance of having a child with learning difficulties as she carries the missing gene.
