Stem Cell Rally in D.C. May 24

The following comes from Stephen Meyer, who maintains a daily detailed list of information on stem cells in his blog at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/StemCellInformation/message/5481

As you know, next Wednesday May 24 will mark the one-year
anniversary of House passage of HR 810. We will mark that date with
a patient rally and press conference on Capitol Hill. The rally will
focus on what a year means in the life of a patient while the Senate
fails to act on this legislation. The event will feature Jackie
Christensen, PAN's Minnesota State Coordinator, who will describe
what this past year has meant to her and her family while waiting
for the Senate to vote on this important bill. Advocates from the
Christopher Reeve Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and
others will join us in this call to action.

We really need your help to make this event work. If you are in the
Washington, DC area, please join us. We will have some "support HR
810" posters and stickers to give out, but other signs and posters
will be welcome.

If you live elsewhere, you can participate in the rally by sending a
letter to the editor and encourage your local media to cover the
event. You can also help us turn out enthusiastic people to attend
and participate in the rally -- encourage your friends and family
members to join us for this very important event. And, don't forget
to look for coverage on C-SPAN and your local news outlets next
Wednesday.
